What to prepare before a trial run

Insights Selection Guide

Group one: the material

Material name, form (powder, granule, flake), whether it is sticky, whether it becomes airborne easily, and whether explosion protection is required. These set the basic direction of the machine type.

Group two: the moisture figures

The initial moisture content and the target final moisture determine how much water has to be removed and form the basis for estimating throughput. Capacity figures should also state whether they are on a dry or wet basis.

Group three: the site conditions

Available floor space, electrical capacity or steam parameters, heat source type and local environmental requirements. These limit the range of viable options.

Why a trial run first

Until the operating parameters are fixed, any capacity figure is an estimate. Data obtained from a trial run is what can be used as the basis for signing and acceptance.

If the parameters are incomplete

If only part of the information is available, get in touch anyway. A directional recommendation is usually possible first, with the parameters filled in step by step afterwards.
